Indiana Pacers Fall in Eastern Finals Sweep
The top-seeded Boston Celtics took care of business in Indiana on Monday, beating the Pacers 105-102 to complete a sweep of the Eastern Conference Finals. With the victory, the Celtics advance to the NBA Finals for the second time in three seasons, and are just one win away from claiming their 18th championship.
The Celtics were led by Jayson Tatum, who finished with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Jaylen Brown also had a strong performance, adding 23 points and seven rebounds. The Pacers were led by Tyrese Haliburton's 26 points, but it was not enough to overcome the Celtics' balanced attack.
The Celtics will now head home to Boston, where they will host Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday. The opponent will be the Miami Heat, who defeated the Philadelphia 76ers in the other Eastern Conference Finals series.
The Celtics are seeking their first NBA championship since 2008. They lost to the Golden State Warriors in the 2022 Finals, but they will be hoping to avenge that loss this year.
