Ben Rice Connects for Curtain Call at Yankee Stadium

Rookie Ben Rice was a one-man wrecking crew on Saturday, hitting three home runs to power the New York Yankees to a 14-4 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

The 24-year-old first baseman put on an absolute clinic at the plate, launching home runs in the second, fifth, and seventh innings. His three homers marked the first time a Yankees rookie has accomplished the feat since Joe DiMaggio in 1936.

Rice's performance was all the more impressive considering he was facing a Red Sox team that entered the game with the best record in the American League.

The Yankees have now won four straight games and are in first place in the American League East.
