Ben Rice Hits Three Home Runs in Yankees' Rout of Red Sox

Rookie first baseman has breakout day, leads Yankees to 14-4 victory

Rice becomes first Yankee to hit three homers in a game since Aaron Judge in 2017

WEB Rookie Ben Rice had a day to remember as he hit three home runs in the New York Yankees huge 14-4 win against the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. Rice's first homer came in the second inning, a solo shot off Red Sox starter Nathan Eovaldi. He then hit a two-run homer in the fourth inning off reliever Ryan Brasier, and added another solo homer in the seventh inning off reliever Matt Strahm.

Rice's three homers were a big part of the Yankees' offensive outburst, as they scored 14 runs on 17 hits. The Yankees also got home runs from Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, as they cruised to an easy victory.

Rice's performance was especially impressive considering that he is a rookie. The 25-year-old was called up to the majors in June, and he has quickly become a key contributor for the Yankees. He is now hitting .300 with 10 home runs and 30 RBIs in 60 games.

The Yankees will look to continue their winning ways when they face the Red Sox again on Sunday. Rice will be looking to add to his home run total, and help the Yankees extend their lead in the AL East.
